The State of Qatar emphasizes that it has taken perfect steps at various legislative and executive levels with the aim of crime prevention and control of drugs, through the adoption of laws and regulations that are lined with its international commitments in this regard, and the establishment of institutions involved in this, including the Qatari Shelter for Human Care, which aims to harbor and care victims of human trafficking, and the Qatar Foundation for Combating Human Trafficking, which operates within the framework of the State of Qatar's strategy in this area.

The discussion made by the State of Qatar talks on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice in front of the Third Committee "Committee for Social Humanitarian and Cultural Affairs of the General Assembly on the special Article of " crime prevention and criminal justice" , which was delivered by Mrs. Nora Abdullah Al-Dosari , a member of Qatar's delegation participating in the 68th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations .

The statement pointed out that Qatar has paid special attention to this issue with international efforts , and it attempts deeply to cooperate with international and regional organizations and on a bilateral level , in order to combat crime and drugs , and to address the causes and means on development plans to address them and to ensure the survival of criminal justice.

It also noted that the State of Qatar has a key position to play an important role in promoting international cooperation to combat crime and drugs, both through bilateral cooperation between the competent authorities in the country and their counterparts in many Member States, as well as cooperation with the United Nations and regional organizations, as Doha hosted a number of meetings and workshops regional and international in this regard. Based on the Rule ( 67) of the General Assembly No. A/67/184, which welcomed the hosting of state of Qatar to the Thirteenth United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice in 2015 , preparations for hosting the conference have been accelerated.

The statement stressed that Qatar being prepared to host this international conference, took on the national, regional and international and even humane responsibility to organize international congress that will bring together the heads of states and heads of governments and policy-makers and executives and civil society organizations in the field of crime prevention and criminal justice , in order to meet the escalating challenges posed by organized crime, drugs and terrorism, to reach up a safer, and more equitable world.
