Qatar delegates, led by Major Gen. Dr. Abdullah Yousf Al Maal, the Legal Advisor of Minister of the interior and Chairman of the Preparatory Committee of the Conference, participated in the Asia-Pacific Regional Preparatory Meeting of the Thirteenth United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice held in Bangkok from 22 to 24 January 2014.

The meeting discussed topics on the agenda of the Thirteenth United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, which will be hosted by Doha in April 2015.

Besides that a special seminar was organized by the Institute of Thailand for Justice, between Qatar and Thailand on the preparations for the Thirteenth Conference on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice. The seminar centered on many factors on preparations for the conference, and the lessons learned from the earlier conferences, as well as the experience Thailand that hosted the 11th Conference on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice in 2005.
