Talks With British Officials on UN Crime Congress – DOHA 2015

HE Major General Dr. Abdullah Yusuf Al-Maal, Advisor to HE the Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Preparatory Committee for 13th UN Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice - Doha 2015, headed the Qatari delegation along with the United Nations team at official talks with senior officials of British Home Ministry at London. The talks were held on Monday, 19 January 2015 , in the presence of His Excellency Yusuf bin Ali Al-Khater Qatar's Ambassador to the United Kingdom.
Mike Anderson, International Affairs officer at the Interior Ministry, Richard Wiley, Officer at Organized Crime Combating Unit, Peter Starr and Joe Bill from Counter-terrorism and Immigration Section and Ruby Kent were represented British side at the official talks.
During the talks, the logistics preparations made by Qatar to host the Thirteenth United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice in Doha on 12-19 April 2014 was explained. The meeting also discussed many issues of concern to the British side on UN Crime Congress agenda, as well subjects of interest to the United Kingdom regarding policies, future strategies in the areas of the fight against organized crime, corruption, drug and trafficking in persons. During the talk, an agreement was reached on cooperation and coordination with the Qatari delegation, who chairs informal consultation rounds regarding the ongoing preparation on Doha Declaration being done at Vienna.
