Under the noble patronage of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, the Ministry of Interior is organizing tenth edition of Milipol Qatar on 20 - 22 October 2014. This international exhibition is unique of its kind in the Middle East region where the latest products by international companies in the field of internal security is exhibited.

The tenth edition of Milipol comes in the background of success after success without interruption, alternating every two years with Milipol Paris ... great efforts are exerted by the organizing committee to maintain this success. To elaborate these efforts and the preparations for the new edition of Milipol Qatar, we had an interview with Brigadier Nasser bin Fahad Al Thani, Chairman of Milipol Qatar Committee.

20 Years of Milipol in Partnership with Paris

The Milipol Qatar is the only specialized exhibition in the Middle East in internal security, and since its establishment in 1996, it’s in constant evolution by virtue of the partnership between Qatar and France. During this long period, the Ministry of Interior in Qatar could create a leading and advanced position for Milipol Qatar, as it became the only exhibition in the Middle East concerned with internal security.

Exhibitors of Milipol Qatar 2014

A number of companies from 32 countries are participating in this Exhibitors exhibition. The number of exhibiting companies reached 246 three weeks before its opening and they cover more than 5842 square meters. There are well-known companies that have participated before, and new companies that will participate for the first time from Belarus and Finland. New pavilions have been added in the exhibition such as Austria pavilion. Some friendly countries continue to participate in Milipol Qatar such as France, Germany, Britain and US. The advantage of this exhibition is in variety of its products and the participation of companies from other countries that didn’t participate before, or the countries that participated before in previous sessions and then stopped and returned again this year to participate, such as Brazil.

Participation of Local companies and Institutions

There are some national companies and local government bodies that participate in this edition of Milipol Qatar. Most notable among them is ‘Rail’. Rail is one of the new companies that participate for the first time. We are much interested in their participation in Milipol 2014, as they are concerned with the construction of railways and Metrorail which is very large and important project in the state. They are in need of surveillance cameras and other security devices to secure different railway stations that will spread throughout Qatar. Milipol Qatar will provide them a good opportunity to get introduced with other companies and interact with them on their actual needs of security logistics.

Special Features of Milipol Qatar 2014

Milipol Qatar exhibition specializes in internal security, and works to meet the needs of the ministries of the interior for the apparatus and equipment that contribute in the maintenance of security and the fight against crime, to achieve internal security. The security people will find latest products they require in Milipol Qatar. The other exhibitions in the region are specialized in defense requirements and commercial products, whereas the jurisdiction of the Milipol Qatar is the products of internal security. What distinguishes us from other exhibitions is that it’s exclusively for internal security, which has become a priority for all countries in the world.

Important Personalities Expected to Attend Milipol this year

Renowned figures from many countries will attend Milipol Qatar 2014. There are personalities invited by His Excellency the Prime Minister and the Minister of the Interior, including Emergency Minister of Azerbaijan, and a number of ministers have been invited such as French Interior Minister. There are invitations provided by the Director General of Public Security to some officials of the security agencies in brotherly and friendly countries. As well, the organizing committee invited many authorities in GCC, Arab, European and other countries.

Participation of MoI and Internal Security Force (Lekhiwya)

Some departments of the Ministry of Interior will be participating with their stands in the large pavilion allocated to them. The participating departments include the General Directorate of Coasts and Borders Security, the General Directorate of Information Systems, National Command Center (NCC), Criminal Evidence and Information Department (CEID), the Preventive Security Service (Al-Adeid), Community Policing Department, Communications Department, Milipol Qatar, Industrial Security Department, along with wing internal Security Force (Lekhwiya). All departments of the Ministry will visit the exhibition to learn about the latest products offered by the companies.
