Milipol Qatar 2014 Concludes

The Milipol Qatar Committee held a press conference at the exhibition’s media centre on Wednesday October 22, 20114 to announce the final figures and statistics of the exhibition.

The conference was attended by president of the committee Brig. Nasser bin Fahad Al-Thani, and the members of the committee Brig. Saud Rashid Al-Shafi, Brig. Ahmad Abdullah Al Jamal and Col. Abdullah Khalifa Al Muftah along with the director of Milipol Paris Muriel Kafantaris and other dignitaries.

Brig. Nasser bin Fahad Al-Thani expressed his gratitude to all the exhibiting companies, delegates, guests, visitors and media persons who attended the exhibition. He said that the total deals of the Ministry of Interior finalized at Milipol Qatar 2014 reached QR 309 million. A total of 146 official delegations from 30 countries took part in the event. The total number of visitors reached 6583 persons from 63 countries which shows a growth of 13% more than Milipol 2012. Almost 217 media persons attended to cover the activities of the exhibition representing different media networks.

He added that the total number of exhibiting companies reached 261 from 36 countries with a growth of 7% more than Milipol 2012. Belgium, Cyprus, Portugal, Romania, Republic of Slovakia and Taiwan were the new countries participated in the exhibition this year. The total floor plan of the exhibition was 6055 square meters which made a growth of 12 % more than the previous exhibition.

Muriel Kafantaris, the director of Milipol Paris said that the exhibition had achieved great success in regards of the figures and statistics announced. Similarly the number of deals also increased this year with deals worth of QR 329 million whereas the total amount of the previous Milipol deals was QR 252 million.

Brig. Saud Rashid Al-Shafi said that some deals of Ministry of Interior were not finalized due to lack of time as the procedures will be concluded in the coming week and more deals worth QR 20 million will be concluded soon that would make the total value QR 329 million. These deals are intended to buy security devices, military equipment and radars for different departments of the Ministry.
