Investigation and follow-up section exercises its competence through the following divisions: -

Investigation Branch which is concerned with:

• Registering the reports and complaints of the Department through the security system and follow up with all of its procedures and verify the integrity of the data relating to the parties to the case.
• Do the investigative works with preference in reports and complaints pertaining to the juveniles and to call witnesses and record their statements and collecting evidences and justifications.
• Retain the delinquent juveniles at Direction house or implement the necessary actions and measures in the cases and in accordance with the regulations set forth by the law.

• Take the necessary legal action on deviant juvenile in reserve and consider the interest of the investigation or the interest of the juvenile himself.

Follow-up branch which has the following under its supervision:

• Follow up case files of juvenile defendants, and make sure that they include all the documents, further submit them along with the juvenile to the prosecution for further investigation procedures.
• Prepare periodic statistics for juvenile crimes, arrange, analyze and highlight the most important indicators underlying phenomena behind it.
• Carry out the implementation measures for the verdicts issued against delinquents or those vulnerable to delinquency in cooperation with Social Protection Department
