Students from Qatar University College of Law Visit Penal and Correctional Institutions Department

The Penal and Correctional Institutions Department  at the Ministry of Interior received three field visits from male and female students of the College of Law at Qatar University, as part of the academic and awareness collaboration between both sides.

These visits included introductory lectures delivered by Major General Nasser Mohammed Issa Al-Sayed, Director of the Department, and Colonel Youssef Bilal Al-Abdullah, Assistant Director. During the lectures, they reviewed the responsibilities of penal and correctional institutions, the types of punishments, and the importance of rehabilitation and reform programs in reintegrating inmates into society.

The field tour also included visits to several facilities dedicated to the rehabilitation and reform of male and female inmates, including the library, classrooms for educational programs, vocational training workshops, digital manufacturing workshops, and other facilities that reflect the Ministry’s efforts to provide a comprehensive rehabilitative environment. Additionally, the visits highlighted post-release care programs aimed at supporting former inmates after their release, thus enhancing their positive reintegration into society.
