Major General Abdulaziz Al-Ansari has been the Chairman of the National Counter Terrorism Committee and the Director of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Interior since 2014.
Major General Abdulaziz Abdulla Al-Ansari started his career in the Ministry of Interior as a civil engineer and worked in several designations. He also chaired many committees in the Ministry including MOI Strategy Committee. In 2014, he was appointed as the director of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Interior.
In 2014, he was appointed as the director of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Interior. In May 2015, he was also assigned the role of Director at the Arab & International Police Communication Department.
In this role, Major General Al-Ansari was responsible for managing and supervising police cooperation and coordination with Interpol, the GCC and Arab countries to enhance regional and domestic security and international relations. From May 2007 to September 2014, Major General Al-Ansari was Director of Industrial Security in Qatar Petroleum. Simultaneously, has was also responsible for the Protection of Oil & Gas Installations and Supply Chain Security of the State of Qatar. Previously, Major General Al-Ansari held the position of General Director of the General Directorate of Logistics in the Ministry of Interior from 2002 to 2014. Throughout his career, Major General Al-Ansari has held a number of other positions, including: Chairman of Qatar Primary Material Company, Member of the Ministry of Interior’s Supreme Committee for Police Affairs (Chaired by the Minister of Interior) and Member of the Budget Regulatory Committee in the Ministry of Interior.
He was also involved in many security regulations committees in the country.
Major General Abdulaziz Al-Ansari has a BA in Civil Engineering from Wayne State University in the United States, and has received specialised Commander Training from Ministry of Interior in Qatar.
