Statistics of transactions in Qatar Visa Centers Abroad in 2019
The Ministry of Interior, in cooperation with a number of concerned authorities in the country, succeeded in facilitating procedures for the expatriates coming to Qatar, by launching Qatar visa centers abroad that reduced time and effort and avoided obstacles affecting the employers or expatriates.
The number of visitors to Qatar visa centers during the year 2019 reached about (200179) people while these centers competed 1118687 procedures across 14 centers in 6 countries, including Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, Nepal and the Philippines.
This project, which was launched by the Ministry in October of 2018, aims to facilitate and simplify recruitment procedures in general, protect the rights of expatriates, ensure their safety and facilitate all procedures for their entry into the state. The new system reviews and documents their employment process and accelerate their career start in simplified, smooth and effective procedures, ensuring rights of the employers.
Among the advantages of visa center services is that of medical procedures that were in the old system that consumes a lot of time and effort on the applicants. In the event that the expatriate is not fit for medical treatment, the applicant returns to his country, which causes a large financial cost for the applicant.
He said that the total procedures of medical examinations that were completed during the year 2019 amounted to 3096460 procedures through 20 types of medical examinations, and 4 biomedical measurements. The medical examinations recorded 143,776 cases medically fit, and 7687 unfit that detected some transitional diseases, chronic diseases, and unfit biomedical measurements.
With regard to work contracts, Qatar visa centers abroad completed 158810 work contracts that were approved, while only 188 work contracts were rejected. A total of 160930 fingerprints and vital data were completed, as the security check process recorded 1200 security-restricted visas and 950 security-rejected visas.
He explained that the procedures carried out by the Qatar visa centers abroad were 100% accurate, as the Ministry of Interior does all of their procedures electronically and with follow-up. No medical checkup is accepted without the approval of the medical commission in Qatar after confirming the fingerprint of the expatriate before stepping into further procedures in the visa centers abroad.
He stressed that this project dealt with many matters related to recruitment, which were previously taking a long time, as it contributed to the speedy completion of recruitment procedures guaranteeing the rights of workers and employers. He pointed out that the project started to provide services to the private sector, and then to the semi-governmental sector and then the government sector, and finally domestic workers as well.
Major Abdullah Al-Muhannadi said that the second stage of the project would witness new countries to open centers there such as Kenya, Ethiopia and Tunisia. The ministry is working on studying the countries of expatriate labor that are not covered in order to reach at the end of the project to cover all countries that are recruiting labor from there, in addition to extending the service in all visas issued by the State of Qatar.
