Department Services:
In the field of combating crime:
The department works to protect society and individuals from crime and criminals through:
Contributing to the development of strategies and plans to combat crime in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Arab Interior Ministers' Council and the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol).
Collaborating with internal and external entities to establish security agreements.
Combating crime and all factors that disrupt the stability and security of society in various areas (individual crimes, organized crime, terrorism, money laundering, drugs, human trafficking, crimes against children, etc.).
Receiving and extraditing criminals and individuals violating Qatari laws to uphold the concept of state sovereignty by applying its laws and protecting its territory.
Exchanging information regionally and internationally to pursue wanted individuals.
Securing social interests:
Contributing to securing major events in the country, such as the 2022 World Cup.
Civil protection for individuals and society internally and externally:
Participating in or coordinating participation in rescue teams during disasters and crises both domestically and internationally.
Qualification and training:
The department conducts the training and qualification of its employees and employees of other departments using the latest technological means used in combating crime. Additionally, it sends numerous ministry officers for qualification and training within the International Criminal Police Organization and some are appointed to positions within the organization to gain further experience.
