Introduction
The Ministry of Interior established the Inspection Department in line with its strategy of efficiency and effectiveness, and its commitment to keeping pace with advancements in law enforcement and security. The department ensured that its vision, mission, and objectives aligned with the continuous development goal of the ministry, in line with quality standards and ongoing excellence pursued by the ministry. It aims to contribute to the enhancement of overall operations and efforts, serving as a specialized tool in the field of oversight.
Its mission involves aiding and assisting other departments and committees within the ministry to elevate performance levels and implement the ministry's plans and policies to safeguard material and human resources, ensuring the highest level of discipline. Additionally, it integrates prior experiences and continuously updates its practices through scientific advancements in all areas of inspection work.
The Inspection Department was established as part of the Ministry of Interior's efforts to enhance performance levels, achieve higher rates of control, and strengthen ties with the departments and committees of the ministry. In pursuit of this objective, His Excellency the Minister of Interior issued Decree No. 65 of the year 2014 to establish the Inspection Department, defining its mandates and organizational structure. Subsequently, in line with this, the Minister of Interior issued Decree No. 60 of the year 2016, amending the name of the department from the Inspection and Monitoring Department to the Inspection Department. Its responsibilities were expanded to include receiving complaints and suggestions from ministry employees regarding performance levels and professional conduct, forwarding them to the relevant authorities, and monitoring their resolution.
From the beginning of January 2015, specialized teams were formed to conduct disciplinary, administrative, and financial oversight through field visits. These teams began executing their duties by conducting on-site visits for disciplinary, administrative, and financial oversight purposes.
The purpose of establishing the Department:
- To be an assistant and aid to all departments and committees of the Ministry in implementing laws and systems to improve performance, develop work, and achieve comprehensive quality.
- To ensure that laws, regulations, decisions and circulars from the Ministry’s departments and committees are correctly implemented.
