Criminal Information Section:

Criminal information means data and information related to the crime, criminal, circumstances and of every incident committed in the State of Qatar or outside the Qatar if the accused or convicted person is wanted internationally.

Therefore, criminal information is an essential basis for those who work in the field of security as the planning for crime combating and prevention is done based on these data. It also has a great importance in assisting other sectors of the society through issuing good conduct certificates to assign the right person in the right place.

This section evolved from Criminal Records Branch to become Criminal Information Section and female employees were assigned in the field of monitoring and following up criminal information of criminals, victims, deportees and wanted persons. The female employees currently represent more than 70% of the section staff. The section has trained the employees on using modern technologies such as computers, electronic archiving and the automated system for criminal records.

Criminal Information Section includes the following three Branches:

• Security Verification Branch

• Criminal Registration Branch

• Criminal Statistics Branch
