Introduction
The Logistics Department was established in 1989 and all service sectors were under its jurisdiction. After sometime, some of its sections became independent departments and in July 2001 ministerial decree No, (1) was issued reconstituting Logistics Department as a General Directorate that consists of five departments. In the latest restructuring in 2002, it became again a department that includes some sections only.
The Logistics Department is considered as one of the prominent service departments of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) as it is responsible for providing needs and requirements of all departments and sections of the Ministry. In addition, it also prepares the budget of each department and put it into execution, oversees implementation of new projects, making contracts and translates construction plans to the reality.
In the light of unprecedented boom being witnessed by the MoI on all levels especially in infrastructure such as buildings and facilities with high level of quality and efficiency, the Logistics Directorate plays a major role in making success theses projects and supervising it.
