Requirements for recruiting  domestic workers and the like

Those who would like to employ domestic workers and the like on their sponsorship shall meet the following requirements. 

1) There should be a real need for domestic workers and the like.

2) The number of people who are being recruited shall be in appropriate with  the number of family members.

3) Ensure applicant's ability to meet its financial obligations towards those employed.

4) The health conditions of the applicant will be considered and the need for such employment.

5) No restrictions that hinder the approval shall not be registered against the applicant. 

Those who are recruiting for following jobs shall meet additional requirements :

• Seamen: The approval will be given according to the size of the vessel and the type of activity (fishing / picnic) based on the letter from the concerned authority.

• Farmers: The approval will be given according to the size of the farm and the type of activity in Farms i.e. vegetables and fruits, livestock, entertainment based on the letter from the concerned authority.

• Herdsman/Shepherd: Approval will be granted for those with livestock based on a certificate from the Ministry of Environment, and the number of workers are specified in appropriation with number of cattle he owns.
