Qatar Police Sports Federation is one of the bodies under the Ministry of Interior established in the year 1977 by the Emir Decree No (6) of the year 1977. In 2006, the Minister of state of internal affairs issued the decree No (44) by restructuring the board of directors of Qatar police sports federation that was by appointing Brigadier-General / Khalid bin Hamad Abdullah al-Attiyah – as president of the Qatar Police Sports Federation for the remaining period of existing Council specified in Article (3) of the resolution of the Minister of State for Internal Affairs No (23) for the year 2003.

The re-formation of the council for Qatar police Sports Federation was undertaken again by Ministerial decree No (61) of the year 2007 so as to make the duration of council as four years.
