Developing Future Leaderships Course for Officers

Under the patronage of HE the Minister of State for Interior Affairs Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Police Training Institute (PTI) celebrated the graduation ceremony of "Developing Future Leaderships Course for Officers" on Thursday 3/6/2010. The course held in the PTI in cooperation with the National Policing Improvement Agency (NPIA) of UK, with the participation of 18 officers.

Assistant Director of Police Training Institute Col. Dr. Mohamed Abdullah Al-Marri, Head of the Technical Office of HE the Minister of State for Internal Affairs Col. Badr Ibrahim Al Ghanim and the course's lecturers attended the ceremony.

Assistant director of PTI assured in his speech that the developing future Leaderships course aimed to improve the performance and to develop the leadership and administrative skills of officers in the field of leadership, strategic planning, managing and leading teams, decision making processes and learning about Qatar Police strategy and leadership structure according to modern training ways and methods through benefiting from National Policing Improvement Agency's well known effective programs.

Then Alan John delivered his statement on behalf of National Policing Improvement Agency of the UK and expressed his happiness for giving such opportunities to introduce their expertise in the field of police training, assuring that the participants worked hard to develop their skills and learn about the recent scientific developments. He said that this course came within the preparation of future leaders in the Ministry of Interior.

Major. Abdulaziz Ali Al Sulaiti of the Criminal Laboratory Department delivered the graduates statement in which he said: "It is a matter of great pleasure for me to represent my fellow graduates to express to the management of Police Training Institute our sincere appreciation, thanks and gratitude for holding this course."

Commenting on the occasion, Captain. Sabt Saqer Al Kuwari from the Medical Services Department said: "The course included reviewing some experiences of outdoor events and how they were dealt with in order to get trained to face and address risks and prevent them at the time of their occurrence, leading and forming work groups and taking positive decisions". He also stated that the success of the course represents the Ministry's interest in training and qualifying its staff.

The National Policing Improvement Agency which conducted the course has a long experience in police work. Its staff worked to share their experience and experiences of others using an exceptional method and they provided the participants the latest information in the different fields related to police work that enables the officers to benefit from it in the future work and in implementing strategies for the next phase, said Follow up Officer in the Air Port Traffic Section Captain. Rashid Salem Al Qamra.

In addition to lecturers from National Policing Improvement Agency, Director of Logistics Department and Head of the Strategy Implementation Supervising Committee under the Ministry of Interior Brigadier Engineer. Abdulaziz Abdullah Al Ansari delivered a lecture on the title 'Strategy of Ministry of Interior' and Abdulaziz Al Sayed delivered a lecture on the subject 'Relationship between the Ministry of Interior and National Policing Improvement Agency'. The course program also included a visit to the National Command Center (NCC).
