Fourth Industrial Security Workshop Starts

The fourth industrial security workshop for GCC officers started at Civil Defence officers club on Sunday 9 November 2014.
The workshop is organized by General Directorate of Civil Defence in cooperation with General Directorate of Industrial Security with the participation of 27 officers from various GCC countries and personnel from the security departments of Ministry of Interior, mainly the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya).
The inaugural ceremony was attended by the Director General of Civil Defence Staff Brig. Abdullah Muhammad Al Suwaidi, International Cooperation Department Director Brig. Abdul Aziz Al Ansari, General Directorate of Industrial Security Director Khalifa Al Nasr, Asst. Director General of Civil Defence Brig. Aman Saad Al Sulaiti and Operations Department Director Hamad Al Duhaimi along with officers from Civil Defence and Industrial Security.

Staff Brig. Abdullah Muhammad Al Suwaidi highlighted the importance of the workshop stressing that it would contribute a lot to raise the efficiency of the participants. He pointed out at the importance of exchange of ideas and experience referring to the participation of officers from other GCC countries.
The director of Civil Defence underscored that the course was mainly aimed at focusing on industrial security and introducing its role in security operations. He recalled the success of the previous workshops and said that the workshop also includes field visits to oil fields to obtain more experiences for participants in this regard.
This will be a two week workshop in which experts like Ghani Hussain al Kubaisi, Ziauddin Haider, Jubair Abdul Shafi, Taj Omar and Lyon from Industrial Security will give their lectures on different topics including general concept of security, concept of industrial safety and industrial security in Qatar, functions and duties of industrial security sectors, safety standards in the oil production and topics on piracy and its effects on the oil and gas industry.
