Qatar Participates in the UN Counter-Terrorism Week in New York
The State of Qatar, represented by the National Counter-Terrorism Committee, participated in the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Week, held in New York, United States, from 26 June to 2 July 2026.
On the sidelines of the event, the Qatari delegation held a meeting with Ms. Natalia Gherman, Executive Director of the Counter-Terrorism Executive Directorate (CTED). The delegation also met with Mr. Alexander Zuev, Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT), in the presence of a number of office officials.
The meetings reviewed the existing cooperation between the State of Qatar and both the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism and the Counter-Terrorism Executive Directorate. They also explored ways to enhance coordination in the areas of counter-terrorism and capacity building, in addition to exchanging views on a number of issues of mutual interest.
Qatar's participation in the event reflects its continued commitment to supporting international counter-terrorism efforts and strengthening its partnership with the United Nations and its relevant bodies, contributing to the development of national capabilities, the exchange of expertise, and the adoption of international best practices in this field.
