The National Sport Day event organised by the Ministry of Interior and the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), in cooperation with Visit Qatar and Media City Qatar at Stadium 974, achieved a global milestone by earning a Guinness World Records certificate for the largest temporary sports ground, covering an area of 113,169.68 square metres, far exceeding the minimum requirement of 4,025 square metres, after meeting all the official criteria set by Guinness World Records.
During a ceremony held as part of the National Sport Day activities, Mr. Pravin Patel, a representative of Guinness World Records, announced the new record and presented the certificate to Colonel Ahmed bin Hamad Al Thani, Vice President of the Qatar Police Sports Federation, representing the Ministry of Interior and Lekhwiya. The certificate was also received on behalf of Media City Qatar by Hamad Omar Al Mannai, CEO of Media City Qatar, and on behalf of Visit Qatar by Ahmed Hamad Al Binali, Director of Events and Festivals, in the presence of a number of officials and partners.
