The Airport Security Department and the Airport Passports Department received on Tuesday 20 August 2019 a delegation from the General Directorate of Airport Security at the Ministry of Interior of Kuwait. The delegation was headed by Major General Mansour Mohammed Al Awadhi, Assistant Undersecretary for Ports Security Affairs in Kuwait.

The visit comes within the framework of cooperation between the Ministries of Interior in Qatar and Kuwait. The Kuwaiti delegation was briefed on the new systems of registration of passengers, and the modern technical and electronic equipment and facilities used by the Airport Security Department and the Airport Passports Department in the movement of passengers in and out of Hamad International Airport.

Brig. Essa Arrar Al Rumaihi, Director of Airport Security Department and Brig. Mohammed Rashid Al Mazrouei, Director of Airport Passports Department received the delegation along with a number of officers.

The delegation was also briefed on the security system used by the Airport Security Department, the methods of training airport security personnel as well as the security experience of the airport in relation to the smart robot security device.  The delegation expressed their appreciation to the modern equipment used.

This visit reflects the extent of cooperation and coordination between the Ministries of Interior of Qatar and Kuwait in the exchange of information and on modern programs used in the airport passports department and airport security department to facilitate the entry and exit of passengers.

At the end of the visit, Major General Mansour Mohammed Al-Awadhi, head of the Kuwaiti delegation, thanked the Qatari Ministry of Interior. He lauded the technological development adopted by the Qatari Ministry of Interior inside Hamad International Airport and its unique experiences in issuing visas and the procedures for entry and exit of passengers.
