Mission:

Enhancing road safety and raising its standards, and building national-level operational capabilities through the implementation of joint strategies and plans among various sectors.

The National Road Safety Committee at the Ministry of Interior was established in accordance with Article (101) of the Traffic Law No. (19) of 2007. Its formation and mandate were issued by Cabinet Resolution No. (33) of 2010, which was ratified by His Highness the Deputy Emir and Heir Apparent on July 22, 2010.

The committee is responsible for setting the general traffic policy in all its technical, educational, organizational, legislative, and medical aspects, in cooperation with public and private national institutions. Its membership includes relevant entities involved in traffic-related work. The committee works to develop and improve road safety, taking into account the comprehensive development witnessed by the country in all aspects of life, aiming to advance the nation toward the third millennium through far-sighted and ambitious goals.
