The State of Qatar participated in the first meeting of the Joint Security Committee with Algeria, held in the Algerian capital, Algiers.

The Ministry of Interior delegation was headed by Major General Nasser Yousef Al Mal, Acting Director of the International Cooperation Department. The Algerian side was headed by Mr. Kaily Kamal, Director of Cooperation at the Ministry of the Interior, Local Authorities and Transport. The meeting discussed a number of items on the agenda and adopted the appropriate recommendations.

The delegation also met with H.E. Mr. Saïd Sayoud, Minister of the Interior, Local Authorities and Transport of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, in the presence of H.E. Mr. Abdulaziz Ali Al Naama, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria.
