The Visa Support Services Department of the Ministry of Interior participated in a press conference held on Saturday, January 4, 2020, to announce the activities of the Shop Qatar Festival 2020 organized by the National Tourism Council in cooperation with the festival partners from January 7-31 2020.
Director of Visa Support Services Department at the Ministry of the Interior, Major Abdullah Khalifa Al Muhannadi, said that the Qatar Visa Portal platform will open Sunday to receive visa requests for state visits from all countries around the world to participate in the fourth edition of the Qatar Shop Festival, in the framework of facilitating the submitting requests to come to the state.

He pointed out that the Qatar visa platform allows the service to obtain and follow-up the electronic visa, in order to attend the various events that it hosts throughout the year, and to support the tourism openness to the world and attract more visitors to provide a distinctive tourism experience for them.

Al Muhannadi added that this platform is added to the list of pioneering electronic projects in the field of issuing visas, which are carried out by the Ministry of Interior to facilitate electronic services provided to the public, and contribute to strengthening the movement of increased economic growth witnessed by the state, in order to achieve the Qatar National Vision 2030, noting that the movement of entry and exit the State is witnessing rapid growth, thanks to the many diverse programs that the state has embraced, as nationals of more than 90 countries are allowed to enter the State of Qatar with an immediate visa obtained at Hamad International Airport, this makes Qatar among the most open countries in the world.

The State of Qatar hosts many cultural, scientific, sports, entertainment, and other activities throughout the year, including the Qatar Shop Festival that carries a variety of activities and events, which required the creation of a unified platform that receives visa applications for these different purposes, Al Mohannadi added, explaining that the Qatar Visa Portal platform It is not only limited to activity visas, but also covers business, investment and other visas.

In order to facilitate the process of submitting visa applications to users, the Ministry of Interior was keen to design a visa application form on the platform's website easily and smoothly, any user can fill in the data electronically from anywhere in the world in a short period within two minutes, while the approval of the issuance of the visa is within 48 working hours from the date of receiving the application, he said.

He also stressed that the platform design was done through the efforts of the Ministry of Interior in cooperation with a number of agencies each within its field of competence, allowing the public at home and abroad to see the events taking place in Qatar.
