Under the patronage of HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and in presence HE Staff Maj. Gen. Saad bin Jassim Al-Khulaifi, the Director General of Public Security, Awarding Ceremony for Ministry of Interior Security Research Prize was held on Sunday, 2 September 2018 morning at Officers Club of the Civil Defence. MOI Security Research Award contest for the year 2017-2018 was held on the on the topic ‘Enhancing Intellectual Security in Qatari Society’.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Brig. Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Mahanna, Director General of police College and President of the Security Research Award Committee explained about the Award, its objectives and how the winners are selected. Research and studies centers in universities, the Police College and the Police Training Institute collaborate with this initiative in order to raise the level of intellectual security among the members of society and institutions to achieve security and stability in the Qatari society, he said. 
"As research and studies  centers play a role in finding solutions based on systematic and scientific bases for different challenges, this award has been directed to this important segment of the Qatari society to contribute to achieving security and stability through the application of the scientific method to provide solutions and proposals that achieve these objectives”, he added. 

The Director General of Public Security HE Staff Maj. Gen. Saad bin Jassim Al-Khulaifi awarded the certificates for the winners and judges. The first prize was won by Dr. Wadha Matar Murshid Al-Nuaimi from Ministry Education and Higher Education while second and third prizes were won by Laila Fadl Hamad Al-Sada from Ministry of Interior and Ameena Mohammed Shafee Al-Ansari from Ministry of Municipality and Environment. 

The researches focused on the concept of intellectual security, the link between national security and intellectual security and the role of the family, education and the media in enhancing intellectual security. They also used the scientific method and appropriate tools for this kind of research to achieve the best results and strategies to enhance intellectual security in Qatari community.
